Audi Q5 Facelift is now all set to hit the Indian roads after a long time from Audi India. Audi India is launching this new model after a long break of 18 months, as their last model to make a drive on Indian roads is the BS4 version of the luxury SUV around April 2020.
Equipped with several aesthetic features, the Audi Q5 Facelift is believed to provide a great driving experience with luxurious comfort. This Audi Q5 Facelift was already unwrapped to global markets a few months back. When it comes to India, Audi has already initiated production at their plant in Aurangabad, Maharashtra. Audi India has opened the slots for pre-bookings for a token of Rs. 2 lakh. The launch of this model is expected to start soon after the announcement of the price tag.
This Audi Q5 looks different from their previous models in terms of the exterior look. It equips a wider single-frame grille. Interestingly, unlike the model which is launched in the global market, the Q5 of the Indian version has vertical struts on the grille.
Now let's start with the exterior surface, the Q5 equips a string design in terms of both internal and external looks. Audi India gave a new look in terms of front design, and you can find something new in the designs of LED headlamps as well as the tail lamps. It also has the highlights of a flat, wide, now-octagonal grille with aggressive brushed metal vertical slats, a metallic strip between the tail-lamps, new bumpers, a bit of silver trim under the doors.
In Audi Q5, the car company made a raise in wheel size, and the size was increased from 18 to 19 inches. To be honest, the design looks somewhat plain. However, in terms of the overall design, this Q5 holds its sharp and brilliant outlook.
Under the top roof, Q5 is subjected to some minor changes, which resulted in great design. However, the only visible part of the change can be spotted on the infotainment screen. Yes, the screen has now grown wider to a size of 10.1-inch unit from the size of 8.3-inch.
The great news lies in the interior part, similar to A4, the S5 and RS5 are also gaining facelifts this year and Audi is now integrating its new generation of MMI software to switch for touchscreen. Audi India has also made an update in the virtual cockpit digital dials with higher resolution imagery and slicker animation.
With a luxurious space, Q5 remains a luxury SUV with a spacious interior. Back seats have lavish space to rest your knees in utmost comfort. Also, Q5 brings the advantage of having USB ports for rear passengers. On their previous model, Audi India provided a conventional brown wood trim cabin, but as an upgrade Q5 comes with the piano black and it also comes with the 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system on the top Technology trim.
You may notice much of the features are somewhat similar to the previous models, but the notable additions of Q5 include the wireless phone charging, a panoramic sunroof, Apple Carplay, and Android Auto, park assist, adaptive dampers, and 8 airbags.
Under the hood, Audi Q5 has refined and smooth components. Audi India's car models have 2.0 and 3.0 TDI diesel engines but this feature is missing in the all-new Q5 model. However, it won't be a pitfall as the new 45 TFSI petrol engine is pretty impressive.
This all-new luxury SUV is expected to hold a price tag of Rs 58 lakh-62 lakh for the two variants, Premium Plus and Technology.
