Skoda launches its Sedan, the Slavia: the complete review

Skoda has officially raised the curtains for their all-new midsize Sedan, the Skoda Slavia. As we are continuously surprised by the features of SUVs, we literally forget the joy that Sedan vehicles provide.

This Skoda Slavia is the second launch for Skoda in the India 2.0 project. The interesting part about this Salvia is that it benefits at the level of 95 percent, leaving a question of whether this model comes at a lucrative price or not. Their upcoming Skoda Slavia is said to replace the outgoing Skoda Rapid in the Indian market. The Slavia is compact, lower, and a bit wider when comparing it with the new-generation Honda City.

Skoda offers their new Slavia in five rocking shades including white, silver, steel, and a couple of shades of blue and red.

How does it look on the exterior part?

The total structure of the Skoda Slavia is pure and delightful with perfect design. The fascia features a strong design with a sloping bonnet of sharp lines that run down to the chrome outlined hexagonal-shaped grille with gloss black vertical struts. These sharp lines continue on the side of the Slavia as well.

The front design can be seen even in the Kushaq as well. When we come to the headlight part, Skoda brings the advanced LED technology which is fused with the grille and completes with a dash of DRL.

Slavia brings the chrome additions on the door handles, wheels with stylish alloy design, chrome outlines can also be spotted on the bottom of the windows and overlapping around the C-pillar bend.

And coming to the rear part, this part will certainly grab your attention. Slavia showcases the prominent Skoda lettering on the boot lid between the sleek LED taillights. This part has a prominent space of 516 litres, yes of course it is quite a larger part in this Sedan. It is evident how Skoda burnt a night lamp to grab much attention in the rear part.

How does it look inside?

Skoda brings the latest vehicle concepts of Skoda’s European models in their all new Slavia. A 10-inch infotainment screen is fixed close to the front seat while cutting out the glare on screens. The sleek centre console with storage spaces and the two-spoke steering with mounted controls are all quite upmarket.

Slavia got its distinctive leather-wrapped two-spoke steering wheel fixed with one-touch media control. In addition to this, it also comes with a large fully digital instrument cluster that displays all the vital information. Its centre console also has multiple buttons for seat ventilation, door lock, and more.

You can also spot an all-digital driver display on the front side, and more interestingly two front seats have cooling functionality. Seats are provided with black and beige upholstery which adds a pleasing effect to the interior. Also, back seats have much space to rest your knees and legs without much strain. Considering the width you would find zero reasons to complain about it.

The back portion of both front seats is provided with a flap-like storage room to store any files. Speaking about the windows, they are all around and well equipped with a conventional sunroof which makes any journey delightful with Slavia.

Skoda Slavia: Safety concerns

With Slavia, Skoda offers a safer driving experience with multiple astonishing features. Slavia is loaded with as many as six airbags in the top variant, with ESC as standard and Multi-Collision Brake. While diving much deeper, it offers hill-hold control, a rearview camera, and a tyre-pressure monitor.

As a bonus, this sedan is offered with an electric sunroof, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ambient lighting, wireless charging, rain and light sensors, and cruise control.

Things hiding under the hood

You can drive out the Skoda Slavia in two TSI petrol engine options. This engine can be availed in six-speed manual transmission and six-speed automatic transmission options.

Rather than this, customers can also go with the 1.5-litre, four-cylinder TSI engine from the EVO generation, which holds the active cylinder technology. It is also available in two different options including a six-speed manual and seven-speed DSG.

The wonder with the active cylinder technology is, it will shut down two cylinders automatically when the engine has a low load. This mechanism lowers fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. Thus, Skoda brings Slavia as an overall efficient model in its Indian car lineup.

What would be the price?

The price of this new Slavia will be disclosed in early 2022. However, as per the estimation, the base model of Slavia will have a price tag between 10-15 lakhs INR.

This mid-size sedan is set to compete against some of the popular car models like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
